Our SmartPath program gives you money from your customer’s energy-saving improvements. This unique program allows customers to enjoy all of the benefits of their energy-efficiency upgrades without the initial financial burden of the upfront costs. As a qualified SmartPath Trade Ally, you will receive a performance payment for verified energy savings. It’s a smart win-win for you and your customer’s energy efficiency improvement project​.

The Process is Easy as 1-2-3
We are proud to work with Guidehouse, a leading provider of energy efficient solutions, to bring these savings to you.

1. Plug into SmartPath’s Trade Ally Network
Become a qualified SmartPath Trade Ally by attending a training session. You will have access to our innovative project savings platform, learn about our energy efficiency financing, and learn how to market the SmartPath program to your customers.

2. Get help finding project opportunities
You will have access to our project savings platform with customer energy use profiles perfect for identifying potential projects.

3. Get Paid for Energy Savings
Duke Energy pays you an initial savings payment of up to x% attributed to energy efficiency improvements on eligible customer projects. Subsequent energy saving payments will be disbursed for verified energy savings over a year time period.

Get on the SmartPath

Providing the data below will enable us to generate a preliminary market sizing for high potential customers and estimate the potential for payable savings based on your projects savings and economics. This is the first step in determining whether Duke Energy's SmartPath Program is right for your business and your customers.

This program is focused on commercial buildings, and, after reviewing the data provided, Duke Energy and its third-party vendor, Guidehouse, will schedule a discussion to determine together if there is a fit. You will get access to live dashboards, detailed market rules, and necessary paperwork to get started. All information is confidential and filling out this form does not commit you to any further action.

    Estimating Project Value

    We use preliminary data in the Value Estimator to provide you with an indication of the value past projects have delivered. This is the first step in identifying successful projects and understanding the price, based on the lifetime value anchor technologies deliver to MCE and their customers. You will have access to this calculator through the password protected section of this website.

    ​The graphic on the left is an example of the Project Value Estimator tool that you will be able to access through the password protected area of this site. We will go over your results, and the function of the tool when we schedule an onboarding call. 
    How much did the customer pay you for the components of your project related to Electric savings. Limit these costs to those measures and cost directly related to the savings being claimed.
    Your estimation of kWh saved from past M&V. Please describe the source of these estimate below.
    How much did the customer pay you for the components of your project related to Gas savings. Limit these costs to those measures and cost directly related to the savings being claimed.
