​What is a FLEXmarket?

FLEXmarket is a platform Recurve provides to utilities to connect aggregators (energy efficiency, demand response, and other behind-the-meter providers) to markets that pay for delivered grid value. Unlike traditional programs, the FLEXmarket is focused on enabling market access for the broad range of companies developing business model and technologies that can both provide customer and grid benefits. Rather than focusing on "measures," FLEXmarket measures outcomes at the meter using transparent open-source M&V, and pays for outcomes to aggregators. FLEXmarket aligns incentives and lets the market innovate on the business model.

What is "Market Access?"

In December of 2021, the California Public Utilities Commission approved an initial investment of $150M for "Market Access Programs" based on MCE/Recurve’s Peak FLEXmarket to reduce summer peaks reductions in 2022 and 2023. Recurve’s FLEXmarket is Market Access and stands ready to address peak challenges and accelerate the implementation of energy efficiency and demand response as a demand-side resource.

How do I become a FLEXmarket Provider?

To participate in a FLEXmarket, ​your organization can simply adopt the FLEXmarket terms of service. This standardized agreement is the same for all market participants, and establishes the basic requirements, such as insurance and payment terms, for aggregators to be part of any Recurve FLEXmarket, no RFP or complicated process standing in your way of market access.

How do I enroll customers and get paid?
